Thorne Vet is honored to support the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA) through its membership in the organization. AHVMA's objectives are to "explore and support alternative and complementary approaches to veterinary healthcare," and remain "dedicated to integrating all aspects of animal wellness in a socially and environmentally responsible manner."
The AHMVA provides a variety of resources and services to its constituents. Through its web site,
www.ahvma.org, members of the public can locate a holistic veterinarian in their area and access helpful information on a variety of topics including "Hay Fever in Dogs, "Food for a Diabetic Cat" and details on homeopathic medicine for animals.
Membership in the AHMVA provides veterinarians and industry associates with access to proprietary information, publications and practice aids, support for specific research projects and representation within the veterinary medicine industry. The organization hosts an annual conference and acts as a resource for industry meetings and exhibitions as well as organizing scholarships for veterinary students.
The quarterly journal of the AHMVA is distributed to practicing veterinarians in the U.S. and libraries, association and veterinary students.
